The top movies of 2009 so far? Transformers 2 good or bad?
What do you think are currently the ten best movies of 2009 so far? Also, movie critics say Transformers 2 was a humorless, racial movie that was too long. Does anybody agree with them? Cause I don't. Me and my brother didn't notice anything racial about the movie, I found some parts of the movie to be quite humorous, and if movies are bad if they're long, why do so many people like the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings Series?

- Honestly, I haven't seen 10 movies so far that were really that great. UP has been my favorite, so far.
I don't think critics hate Transformers 2 because its long, I just think they hate it because they feel its boring and quite possibly because of the amount of plot holes or the lack of an intelligent story, perhaps..
Harry Potter and (especially) LOTR were long but were amazing films with a great story..

- Hi, so Transformers main claim to fame is undoubtedly the action, which is not as popular this year. Fans and critics have pretty much gotten their one action movie out with Star Trek this year. Long movies are usually not frowned upon for the sake of being long. I agree with the first answer in that Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings tell incredible stories which are more substantial for longer films. A movie like Transformers 2 can't sustain itself over 3 hours because it's one-faceted. The movie does not bring much to the table besides stunning visual effects, nonstop* action, and (in my opinion) middle school level humor. If you are a big fan of action movies I would suggest Taken, Star Trek, Terminator Salvation, or X-Men Legends: Wolverine
