Transformers 2 - What's the big deal?

I haven't seen it yet, but I've seen countless people saying it's the best movie of 2009 or even the best movie they've ever seen. Seriously? The first one was terrible, only worth watching once for the special effects, every other aspect of the film was terrible, I find it so hard to believe that Transformers 2 is going to be a modern classic or even going to be mentioned beyond '09. John - I assume you're the typical audience this movie is aimed towards...

I've seen it and its a waste with some cruel subtext in there for a "kiddies" movie.

for me, it was mostly because of the action scenes. other than that, i think the movie should get like a 6/10.

It was THE BEST movie i have seen this year.
The acting, the special effects, the story, almost everything really.. was absolutely AMAZING!. :)

I wish I knew.. I'm one of the very few who didn't get excited over the original and not at all interested in seeing the sequels.. I haven't seen the first one in its entirety.. I've seen it all, just not sat through it.. It never peaked my interest.. I loved the Batman movies (not a Katie Holmes fan but preferred her to Maggie Gyllenhaal) and Iron Man but this one just didn't do it for me..

i agree with you. i went to see the movie with a couple of friends in the theaters and everyone was oh my god that was definitely the most insanely awesome movie i have ever seen and i was like it was a waste of time and a waste of money. it was too hectic and everything was out of place. Like 5 different stories were going on at once and i had no clue on which one to follow. too loud and too much chaos. The comedy was terrible because the characters were trying way too hard to be funny. Before i even knew where the movie was taking place, my ears stopped working because it was too loud. i wanted a refund! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS USELESS MOVIE!

There are many aspects of the movie that make it great.
You are just not into this film as much as other people. It's cool that you don't like it you can have a different opinion.

I liked the first one and i enjoyed watching it...yes it wasn't a crowning work but the special effects made the movie worth it. I just recently saw the commercial for the new movie and i just have no desire to see it. I think it has to do with Megan Fox overexposure and Shia screaming in every line "Bumblebee"!! Your right, this movie is not the best movie of the year. It's sad that this gets a lot of recognition, yet other brilliant films get ignored. sad sad....

It`s a movie full of special effects, just that. It`s a bad movie, made for those kids who loves malls

They suckered me once but they won't fool me again; I have no doubt Transformers will be even worse - if such a thing is possible - than the first movie.

i watched it the day it came out, and boy did i love it...
miles better than the first one! and optimus really kicks ***!!
megan fox looks really good too :)
