Copy DVD to computer / Another Disc?

Hello i've been looking all over for the best way to do this and haven't found a simple way. I'm on a good old windows XP with fairly good stats. Let's say I bought the movie "Transformers" and want to put it on my laptop to take on a business trip and watch it on my computer without having to carry my disk around. How do I put it on my computer and watch it with windows media player. Ok, now let's say I'm back at home from my business trip and I need to take the DVD off my computer and put it onto an empty DVD disk to watch on my home DVD player. (I want to put my original Transformers disk somewhere safe so I don't ruin it.) Getting to the point: I want to rip the protected movie to my computer so I can watch it there, & burn it to a clean DVD I bought at the store. I've been messing around with "DVD Shrink 3.2" & "DVD Decrypter" and I can't figure out how to do it correctly. It would be nice to make a personalized menu for my disk so when I put it in my home DVD player after burning, a menu would pop up instantly and I could push one button and the movie starts. I appreciate any help you can give, it's giving me a headache! =) I'm not distributing it. just backing up. and thanks but i'm not downloading that program, it has bad reviews
