  1. Get "Ong Bak" tonight, but don't bother with the sequel or the "Protector" movies. Get a few "Death Wish" if you're into classic vigilante movies, watch Iron Man 2 (you've probably already seen it).

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is pretty good, Animatrix if you like anime.

Ask your local video store clerks for Action suggestions, and if they can't come up with anything you like, go to another store. The smaller, mom-and-pop video stores are generally more knowledgable and customer-friendly, and they won't try to sell you crap you don't want to buy.

  2. Anything my Miyazaki like My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away and Grave of Fireflies- soul enriching!

Also Shawshank Redemption -amazing!, Mystic River, Invasion of the body snatcher (70s one), The Others, The Village, (first) Alien. Gorillas in the Mist, Grey Stoke! (sad but wonderful), The Shining and Full Metal Jacket (both pure brillliance).

Artful and inspiring low budget stuff- Eraser head by Lynch and Tetsuo Iron Man.

  3. Tears of the Sun

    Band Of Brothers

    Blade 1,2 and 3

    The Bourne Trilogy

    Windtalkers

    Lord of War

    Out of Time

    300

    Kingdom of Heaven

    Those are my recommendations

  4. fight club

    ferris buelher

    green mile

    Casablanca

    Citizen Kane

  5. Grosse Point Blank

    Goodfellas

    Titanic

    Mystic River

    Lives of others

    walk the line

    breakfast club

    little miss sunshine

    public enemies

    goonies
