  1. no. HD DVD is a format that no longer exists. You would need an HD DVD player, but it's a waste of money because they don't make them anymore and they don't make movies in that format.

    You need DVD format.

  2. If you only have a regular DVD player then you can purchase this DVD, but it is NOT going to work in your original DVD player. This is an HD DVD disc. They are no longer making HD DVD movies. The new DVD technology is the Blu-ray players. They can play Blu-ray enhanced discs or regular dvds. they also take the originals DVD's and upgrade them, also. So basically with your regular DVD player, NO you can't play this movie in it. Sorry! :(

-Hope this lets you know what you needed!

P.S. One thing to look for when you are purchasing DVD's is to look at the top of the DVD's. Most likely there will be nothing different to any DVD that you probably have now. Here is an example:

If the movie has a blue colored see-through top, then that tells you it is blu-ray. and the blue top says Blu-ray on it like this:

If a movie has a red top like your Transformers movie, then you know that it is HD DVD, because it says so. You will not see many HD DVD's anymore though, either. If you do they are usually on discount or on sale.
