Transformers Movie Info

Does anyone know which vintage 1980s Transformers were die cast?

I've searched on ebay, but don't find that many. I had tons of diecast ones as a kid, but can't seem to find any online for my sons. There are a lot of plastic vintage, but I don't know which ones were die-cast & which ones were plastic...and i can't tell from some pictures.

  1. First, it's important to remember that not all the G1 figures were wholly die-cast figures, rather they were plastic with die-cast parts. Among the many Transformers figures that contained metal parts, were Optimus Prime, Megatron, Mirage, Sunstreaker, Jazz, Bluestreak, the Dinobots (Grimlock, Slag, Sludge, Swoop, Snarl), Inferno, Grapple, Tracks, Smokescreen, Prowl, Frenzy, Ravage, Blitzwing, the Insecticons (Bombshell, Kickback, Shrapnel), Red Alert Sideswipe, Lazerbeak, Buzzsaw, Rumble, Silverbolt and Roadbuster (please note this list is not complete, there were others...these are the ones I remember...or own).

If you're in the market for classic G1 figures, BigBadToyStore.com sells many of the re-released toys from the G1 line.
