Can Optimus Prime only turn into a 18-wheeler?
Can Optimus Prime turn into something other than a 18-wheeler? If he wanted to fly could he turn into a jet?

- im sure if he wanted to turn into anything else he could. i mean,after all he IS optimus prime.
but i wonder why it didnt show him transform into anything else.
- no he can't turn into a 18 wheeler because he doesnt have a trailer. hes only the cab. so thats like 8 wheeler. he does fly in the 2nd movie!
- Optimus Prime can only transform into an 18-wheeler, yes. That is the vehicle he chose to imitate when he landed on earth. I don't know why they don't imitate other vehicles afterwards, like Bumblebee did in the first movie when he 'upgraded' himself. But Optimus has always been an 18-wheeler.
- Not while he is in "truck mode." That basically means that he can only transform into one thing at a time. In order to transform into something else, he must scan the vehicle and then transform into it. But then he can't transform back into the Peterbilt. Only "triple-changers" have the ability to transform into two different things. Megatron is a triple-changer. In the first movie, he transformed into a kind of jet. In the second, he transforms into a rocket type thing.
