These questions are very important to me, so please try to give as genuine answers as you possibly can as they also relate to me. Plus, I recently heard on the news that many people lately have been experiencing feelings of depression, fear, lonliness, etc after seeing a character they love from a movie/TV show being killed off or hurt. Health experts say such scenes in shows are very bad for people's health, but I digress. On with the questions... 1: Why do so many people (sometimes including myself) care more about a fantasy/imagination world than the real world? 2: If your favourite character in a movie/TV show became hurt, was killed or died, even though you know it's not real & it's all just pretend, why does the human brain sometimes confuse the fantasy world to the real world? Look what happened to the kids in 1986 when they witnessed the death of Optimus Prime in the animated Transformers movie. Optimus isn't real, yet so many cried for him. Thank you.
2. I don't know these characters.
2. Because we come so attatched to the show that we think that they were like a friend, and therefore have feelings for them.
2. Similar to my answer to the first question. Although the second question doesn't really make sense.
3. Well, people cry during movies and T.V. shows all of the time. It's an element of art called mood. Cinematic art does use mood... quite often.
because the people can relate to the fictional caracter. the characterscould be their hero, or they love the character
q 2.
because they get attached to the character. the little children do not know what is real and what isn't. You feel sad for them, like you would for anyone who you liked,
hoped it helps
I dont know that they care more. They just care, because they can relate how that person must feel. Its about experiences someone else's feelings, without living it perse'. Emotional entertainment. Sometimes the real world leaves you emotionless. It can be quite cold, at times.
People like to experience things like the drama of real romance. The drama of someone else's situation
2: Why does the human brain sometimes confuse the fantasy world to the real world?
Does it confuse the two ? Or does it receive it all as real ? I think it receives it all as real.
Part of the reason people have become buffered to killing and hurtful behavior. Theyve seen it all before...1000's of times.
As for why people care more about fantasy than reality, it could be for a variety of reasons. Depression and loneliness can drive people further into obsessing over fantasy. It can also simply be a means to escape reality, which for most people, isn't all that exciting.
I think the reason people care more about fantasy than real life is because in fantasies you can be whoever or whatever you want to be. In a fantasy world you can be happy and content with your life, and real life is frustrating and hard at times. So people get wrapped up in fantasies because they make them feel happy and provide an escape from the pressures of real life.
And I can understand the people who cry for tv and movie characters. When someone watches a movie or tv and the movie or tv show develops a character, they feel like you get to know them. If the character is likable, a person may start to relate to that person or feel like the person is they're friend. They watch the character and despite the fact that they aren't real, get to know them so well that they think of them as a real person or whatever they are. So when the character dies, it's like watching someone you've got to know and like, maybe even become friends with, die. It's very sad.
Sorry for providing such crappy answers, but this how I interpret it. It makes more sense in my head and it's hard to put into words.
