What is Josh duhammel wearing in Transformers 2 during the last battle scenes around his neck?

- It does look like a shemagh but also like a net too. If it was a net it would not do much to block the sun or sand. It would, however, help to break up the outline of the head.
When I was in the Marines in Kuwait, we had been issued a shemagh of (basically) brown cotton, like a t-shirt material. It was about 4' long and 18" wide. I loved that thing. It would block wind, rain, sand and could be used to clean my face, weapon etc. I always wore it wrapped around my neck.
